About Columbia

Columbia is the largest city in South Carolina. According to the 2010 United States Census, the population was 129,272. The city is located 13 miles northwest of South Carolina’s geographic center. It is the primary city of the Midlands region of South Carolina.

Columbia’s metro counties include: Richland County, Lexington County, Fairfield County, Calhoun County, Kershaw County, and Saluda County. The environs and suburbs of the city include:  St. Andrews, Seven Oaks, Lexington, Dentsville, West Columbia, Cayce, Irmo, Forest Acres, Woodfield, Red Bank, Oak Grove, Camden, and Lugoff.
