Charleston, SC is the second largest city in the state of South Carolina. It was made the county in 1901 when Charleston County was founded. Charleston is known as “The Holy City” because of the many churches.

The 2010 United States Census reported the population to be 120,083. This makes Charleston the second most populated city in South Carolina.

Local weather stations identify the climate to be a humid subtropical climate. Charleston gets mild winters and hot, humid, in the summer. The average high is 73 degrees, and the average low is 10 degrees.
