About Cincinnati

Cincinnati is a city in Ohio. It is also the county seat of Hamilton County. The city was settled in 1788, incorporated as a village in 1082 and as a city in 1819.  The city is run on a Council-manager government system.  Cincinnati was the first American “boomtown”. It was the first major inland city in the country.

Cincinnati is home to many major corporations. These local businesses include Macy’s, The Kroger Company, Cincom systems, Western and Southern Financial Company, Fifth Third bank and many more.

Local weather stations report that the area is a humid subtropical climate. July is the warmest month. Winters are cold and snowy making January the coldest month of the year. Snowfall reaches 23.5 inches per year.

The 2010 United States Census reported the population to be 296,943 people living in Cincinnati. The racial makeup of the population is 48.1% White, 44.6% Black, 0.2% American Indian, 1.8% Asian, 0.1% Native Hawaiian, 0.2% other, 2.2% multi racial, and 2.8% Hispanic.
