Tampa is racially made up of 62.7% White, 26.2% African American, .4 % Native American, 3.4% Asian, and 23.1% Hispanic residents. Out of The Tampa’s 157,130 households 27.6% had children under the age of 18 years of age living at home and 36.4% were married couples living together. Over the years Tampa’s population has been growing rapidly. In the ten years following the 2000 Census Tampa experiences a 10.6% growth in population and went from 303,447 to 335,709 residents, according to the 2010 Census.

Tampa experiences a typical climate for a city located in Florida with hot, humid summers and mild winters. In the summer Tampa is normally in the 80s or 90s during the day and at night the temperature will drop into the 80s or 70s. In the winter the city is generally in the 60s or 70s during the day and at night the temperature will drop into the 50s. The hottest month of year in Tampa is August and the coldest month is January. On average Tampa receives 46.2 inches of rain yearly with the majority of it falling from June through September.
