According to the 2000 Census there were 67,504 people, 23,831 households, and 16,062 families living in Tustin. The city’s population density was 5,921.4 people per square mile. The median family income was $60,092 and $42,456 for a household. The income per capita was $25,932.
Tustin is racially made up of 58.7% White, 2.9% African American, .6% Native American, 14.9% Asian, and 34.2% Hispanic residents. Out of Tustin’s 23,831 households 36.8% had children under the age of 18 years of age living at home and 50.2% were married couples living together. In the 10 years following the 2000 Census Tustin experienced a growth in its population of almost 9,000 people. According to the 2010 Census Tustin went from 67,504 to 75,540 residents.
