East Los Angeles is an unincorporated area and CDP in Los Angeles County, California. It is located east of the Boyle Heights district of the City of Los Angeles. It is well known for its Hispanic population. There are 97.1% Hispanics residing in the city as of 2010 (According to the 2010 United States Census).

It is home to many public centers such as libraries, colleges, universities, and other schools. It is also home to a few private school institutions. The area has a few main parks and places for recreational activities.

According to the 2000 United States Census the median household income in the area was $28,544. The median family income for the area was $29,755. The per capita income was $9,543.
