Chula Vista, CA is the second largest city in the San Diego metro area. It is also the 7th largest city in Southern California. Chula Vista is 7 miles from downtown San Diego, and 7 miles from the Mexican border. Chula Vista gets its name from the very scenic location between the coastal mountain foothills and San Diego Bay.

Local weather stations classify the area to be a Mediterranean climate.  The average high is 72 degrees. The average low is 55 degrees and the average precipitation average out 10.0 inches a year.

The 2010 United States Census had a population of 243,916. The population density was 4,682.2 people per square mile.  The racial makeup of the population was 20.4% White, 4.6% Black, 0.8% Native American, 14.4% Asian, 0.6% Pacific Islander, 20.2% other, 5.8% multiracial, and 58.2% Hispanic.
