Carson is a city in Los Angeles, California. It is 13 miles south of downtown LA and 14 miles from the Los Angeles International Airport.  Carson, CA is considered the suburb of the city. It was incorporated February 20, 1968. The 2010 United States Census reported the population to be 91,714.

Carson, CA is 1.29% water. It is bordered by Compton, West Compton, Wilmington, West Carson, and Harbor Getaway.

The population density is 4,835.2 people per square mile. The racial makeup of the population is 23.8% White, 23.8% Black, 0.6% Native American, 25.6% Asian, 2.6% Pacific Islander, 18.7% other, 4.8% multiracial, and 38.6% Hispanic.

Local businesses include, but are not limited to, The Home Depot Center. It is a sports complex used by the LA Galaxy, a team that just signed David Beckham onto their team.  Another local business listed in the local yellow pages is Goodyear. The Goodyear blimp has a landing pad in Carson, CA.

Carson, CA is also home to California State University Dominguez Hills. Other local employers include: BP West Coast, See’s Candies, and Northrop Grumman.
